Board of Directors Leadership

Born and raised in Novato, Cole is a lifelong resident of Marin County. After studying Agribusiness at Cal Poly SLO, he briefly worked in vineyard management in Napa Valley, before making the transition to construction. As a Project Manager for Ghilotti Bros., he helps facilitate the safety, quality, and timely delivery of heavy civil construction projects. When he’s not in the office, Cole likes to spend his time fishing, hiking, and playing golf.

Alex Towery is an accomplished C10 Electrical Contractor based in Marin County. He established Towery Electric in 2013 when his wife was expecting their first child. With 16 years of experience in the industry, he has worked on a wide range of high-end residential and commercial projects. In addition to his thriving business, Alex is an active member of the community and serves as a director for North Bay NARI. Previously, he served as a treasurer for Wednesday’s Gift.

In collaboration with the Board of Directors, Rick is responsible for the leadership of the Marin Builders Association. He manages all strategic planning, program development, and finances. Rick specializes in building effective organizational structure and creating sustainable initiatives.

Rick served as President and CEO of the San Rafael Chamber of Commerce and Vallejo Chamber of Commerce. He holds degrees from UC Davis and Presidio Graduate School. Rick serves on several local Boards in Marin County.

Seth Shorett is a commercial banker with Bank of Marin.  He specializes in financing companies in the building trades, as well as commercial real estate lending.  In addition to his work with the Marin Builders Association, Seth also volunteers with North Marin Community Services and the Novato Chamber.  He lives in Novato with his wife, a Special Education Teacher, and his two young children.  When Seth gets a free moment, you’ll find him camping, hiking, off-roading, or working on his trucks.

Michelle is a proud Marin Native with a love for business, building, design, and creating. She started her career in mortgage banking and real estate and continues to be a player in the RE industry, maintaining an active broker’s license today. Always looking to tackle new business challenges, Michelle saw an opportunity in hospitality in the early 2000s. She owned and operated 3 Marin County restaurants before making her pivot into construction. In 2008, Michelle joined her husband, Dave, at Whiteside Construction- a company he founded in 1986. She is a c-level executive who has been instrumental in the continued growing success of the business. Michelle’s passion for building her community and helping others is the foundation of her career in construction.

Nicole is CEO of GreenLynx, a C21 and General B contractor, and reuse facility in Santa Rosa. She began reclaiming materials from commercial TI jobs in San Francisco while working for her grandfather and mother. Since then, she has overseen over 200 construction, deconstruction and salvage projects around the Bay Area and New York.
 
Nicole has also worked for non-profits focused on the environment and Native American youth. Nicole is Chair of the Reuse Alliance, founded the Bay Area Deconstruction Workgroup, and she organized the new “Building Women” group of Marin Builders Association.
 
Nicole graduated from UC Berkeley with a BS in Conservation Resources and Native American Studies, and UC Davis with an MS in Community Development. Nicole is married and lives in Novato with her two children.

Jeff Hadley is a third-generation Marin based builder born and raised in Novato. He earned a B.S. in Construction Management with a minor in Sustainable Environments from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Jeff is President and Owner of Hadley General Contractors, Inc., a family-run firm founded in 1950 with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, complex projects, and leads the company with a focus on client care, project quality, and continuous improvement. Jeff serves as Vice President of the Tiburon Chamber of Commerce and regularly donates time and resources to Marin-based community organizations. He enjoys waterskiing, camping, and spending time outdoors with his wife, Ally, friends, and family.

From an early age, Brad envisioned himself as an Architect. Part of that vision included exposure to other cultures and fields of study. To that end, he has studied in New Orleans, Seattle, Paris and Sydney, covering an undergraduate degree in painting and a Masters in Architecture.

Brad enjoys a collaborative approach, working closely with other trades and his clients to achieve inspired and unique solutions to every project. In his 30+ years of architectural design, Brad has worked on projects from San Francisco Victorians to contemporary, modern homes and is drawn to projects that demand creative and practical responses to meet the clients’ needs and styles.

Brad Hubbell and his wife and designer, Suzanne Daily, incorporated Hubbell Daily Architecture + Design in 2003. HDA has a growing, varied body of projects throughout the Bay Area.

Sean Kelly is the owner of Lamperti Contracting and Design.  Lamperti has been in Marin since 1965. Sean was first involved with Lamperti as a sub contractor and then took over ownership in 2005.  Lamperti is very well known as a high end Kitchen and Bath remodeling company and Sean works very hard to maintain that reputation.  He has been in the construction business in Marin since starting his first company, Elite Builders in 1990.  He is actively involved in every aspect of the business. Sean Kelly is excited to be a part of the board so that he can provide needed services to other builders in this community.

Antonio Lopez is the founder and owner of Artisan Builders Inc., a general contracting company he established in 2024. Raised in Marin County, Antonio discovered his passion for the trades at a young age and mastered his skills over the years working in San Francisco. Now based in Sonoma County, he leads his company with a commitment to craftsmanship, integrity, and community. Bilingual in Spanish, Antonio also enjoys giving back and supporting the community.

Sara Lopez owns McLeran Roofing & Gutters, a legacy Marin company established in 1929. With roofing rooted deep in her family history, she manages operations, safety compliance, and customer service with her husband, Martin. As Marin’s only female roofing contractor, Sara advocates for high standards, tradition, and strengthening the local trades. She lives in Novato with her husband, daughter, two dogs, and a cat.

With over 20 years of experience, Ciaran has been crafting some of San Francisco’s most prestigious homes since he moved to America in 2006. For a decade at O’Neill Construction, he worked alongside talented Irish carpenters under his good friend and owner, Patrick O’Neill.

Today, Ciaran lives in Novato with his wife, Cindy, their 17-month-old son, Cadáin, and two beloved pups, Pepper and Schnapps. He is passionate about fine woodworking, driving anything with an engine, and fitness. Joining the MBA was an opportunity to get more involved in the community and to give back. He was honored and excited when elected to the board and proud to work alongside respected professionals who serve as role models. “My main objective in life is to do right by people and be of service in everything I do.

Clare has been a member of Marin Builders since 2017 and member of the Board of Directors for five years. She co-chaired Building Women Group initiated by  Nicole Tai, 2025 President of the Board of Directors.
Clare brings 28 years of kitchen, bath & interior design to make your project stand out from the crowd. Understanding construction, electrical and plumbing "speak" takes the stress off GC to communicate with the homeowner so the bumps in the road are reduced to a pebble.
Clare brings to the table international experience of living and working in southeast asia, europe and africa, meaning her head is filled with mosaics and cultural understandings from around the world. She's a valuable team member working on your behalf.

Katharine Moodie is the Chief Operating Officer at Cook Construction, a builder of ultra-luxury homes in the Bay Area. She leads corporate strategy, financial operations, and organizational development, while also overseeing marketing and business development to drive growth. Katharine is committed to strengthening the local small business ecosystem through thoughtful leadership and collaboration. She lives in Oakland with her family and enjoys all manner of studio workouts.
 

Ronnie Neuerburg is an Account Manager at Cal West Rentals who works with contractors to source heavy equipment and small tools to get their job done as safely and efficiently as possible. He believes in under-selling and exceeding expectations. Ronnie's goal is to create long term healthy relationships with customers who he can one day call friends.

Ronnie lives in Santa Rosa with his wife Amy. Ronnie loves to watch MLB & NFL games. Ronnie & Amy enjoy hiking and taking in the views of Marin & Sonoma County.

Renee Norman, a proud native of Marin County, is a passionate lumber saleswoman who thrives on the dynamics of the lumber and construction industry. Her love for the community shines through her dedication to giving back. As a mother of two children, Renee finds balance in both her professional and personal life.

Sean started his career in insurance with Universal Underwriters in 1995 before becoming an independent agent in 2001, the same year he achieved his Certified Insurance Counselor designation. Having been with George Petersen since 2009, Sean has set himself apart with his focus in construction, garage liability and behavioral healthcare. He enjoys spending time with his two children, the Steve McGirr Charitable Brain Cancer Foundation, and participating in and coaching a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, & rugby.

Dan Ross was born in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in Chula Vista and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1974. Today he is the owner/president of Ross Painting, which he began in 1986.
Dan has been a member of MBA since the late 1980s and has been a member of Painting Contractors Association (PCA) since 1986 and was on the national board of directors for 7-years.

Dan married Dina Spadini in 1982. He has two beautiful daughters and one gorgeous granddaughter. 
 

Matt is a seasoned construction executive with 25 years of experience in the construction industry. He has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, successfully overseeing projects valued at $20M-$60M across the San Francisco Bay Area. Matt's expertise in construction processes, estimating, and project management paired with his unique interpersonal intelligence make him an indispensable member of the Thompson Builders leadership team. His ability to establish new business partnerships and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with project owners that span many years has been pivotal in delivering high-quality results that meet client expectations. Matt is also known for his strong leadership skills and ability to foster collaboration among diverse teams.  Matt is a proud father of 7 exceptional kids that all live in Marin County.  He has been active in youth sports and enjoys watching all of his kids participate in their weekly activities.

Joshua Townsend brings nearly two decades of public and private experience in leading specialized teams to engage communities to find success. His diverse expertise includes strategic outreach, marketing, governmental affairs, and crisis communication. He has trained and mentored staffs that are innovative in driving messages as well as its problem-solving ability. He has cultivated relationships through partnerships with non-profit organizations, government and corporate clients while serving on a number of business organizations Board of Directors.

Rob Walker, founder of UpCycle Builders, Inc., is a fourth generation San Francisco builder. Rob worked for several years as a carpenter for a high-end contractor in San Francisco before founding UpCycle Builders, Inc.. A graduate with honors in Finance and Statistics from the University of Southern California, Rob worked as an equity trader for a large investment bank, and later in investor relations. Prior to USC, Rob attended San Francisco University High School.
