Bill Koenig loved golf! And delighted in supporting junior golfers. In that spirit we continue his legacy with the Bill Koenig Memorial Golf Tournament. Join us for a day of fun, golf and laughter in memory of Bill with net proceeds donated to the Indian Valley Junior Golf Foundation.

A little about Bill (if you didn’t know him)...

He loved being out on the course with his friends, having a good time and making memories. He cherished the friendships that were created during those golf days. While not on the golf course, he was busy with his business, Marin Landscape Materials. He started there at age eleven and eventually became the owner.

He belonged to a number of organizations including the Druids, serving in many capacities as a devoted member. He was a dedicated member of the Elks, Native Sons, Eagles and Novato Golf Association.

While not a member of the Rotary Club, he managed to be honored with their highest award.

Bill was married to Louise, and they spent 58 years together raising two daughters, Stacey (Val) and Amy, both teachers in Novato, and have two granddaughters Kourtney and Ashley.

Bill was a strong, positive man who lived his life to the fullest. He was one of the most generous, caring, compassionate people and known for his iconic mustache. He was everyone's "best friend." It didn't matter if he knew you or not. He always stopped to help you or to ask how you were doing. A friend of his once said, “There are two kinds of people in this world. You're either Bill's friend now or you will be."
