Tyler Doherty has served on the Marin Builders Association board since 2008 and was Board President in 2016. Tyler is the co-owner of Cal-West Rentals, Inc., based in Petaluma, which is a family-owned and operated, full service equipment rental company. They serve contractors, homeowners, and ranchers all over the North Bay Area. They also have a party division able to serve the rental needs of the event industry. Tyler has been part of the management team at Cal-West since August of 2007.

With over 30 years of construction and estimating experience, Tom has been Vice President of Estimating with Ghilotti Bros., Inc. since 2006. Tom is responsible for overseeing the preparation of all estimates from takeoff and conceptual estimates through the finalization of the projects being awarded. He has been a Registered Professional Engineer since 1992 and was the President of the Association of Engineering Construction Employers in 2010.

Daniel F. McLennon is managing Partner of the Smith, Currie, Oles San Francisco office. He has over 30 years of experience as Counsel to the construction industry. His services include contract drafting and review, work-outs, mediations, arbitrations, and lawsuits involving license and discipline issues, etc. Dan frequently serves as arbitrator and mediator for the courts of San Francisco and Marin County and is a frequent author and speaker. He is active in numerous trade associations.
 

Brian owned and operated McLeran Roofing Company for over 40 years. His father, Charles E. McLeran adopted the motto, “Dependable Roofing Service” when he established McLeran Roofing in Larkspur in 1929. Charles’ simple motto has been the guiding principle of the company since its early days. Brian learned the trade from his father and took over daily operation in 1978. McLeran Roofing grew over the years under Brian's leadership, but the core belief in quality workmanship, product knowledge and customer service remains a company tradition. McLeran Roofing is a charter member of the Marin Builders Exchange.

Brian worked with the Marin Builders Association and Marin Sanitary Service to establish the Roof to Roads recycling program for roofing materials.
 

John ended up working in the family glass and window business 10+ years ago on a whim, after spending 5 years at Charles Schwab & Co, Inc. in Retail and then International Finance. As CFO he handles all estimating and sales.

John's diverse experience from working in Community Development for the City of Novato while in high school, software development at Autodesk and international financial services at Schwab, lends a unique skill set that applies well to the construction industry.

Dan Ross was born in Atlanta, Georgia, grew up in Chula Vista and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1974. Today he is the owner/president of Ross Painting, which he began in 1986.
Dan has been a member of MBA since the late 1980s and has been a member of Painting Contractors Association (PCA) since 1986 and was on the national board of directors for 7-years.

Dan married Dina Spadini in 1982. He has two beautiful daughters and one gorgeous granddaughter. 
 

Clayton has served on the Board since 2013.  Clayton has built his 27-year career with Thompson Builders Corp. and is currently Vice President of Business Development. His construction experience encompasses new construction, modernizations and seismic improvements of schools, public buildings, housing developments, and other large-scale general building and engineering projects.  Clayton oversees Project Managers on large scale projects to ensure the project progresses according to schedule and budget and is responsible for all aspects of bidding and pre-construction for alternative delivery type projects.

John Busick is a 5th generation painter and CEO of Bob Kunst Painting Inc., a premiere residential and small-commercial painting company headquartered in San Rafael. John is also Co-Founder of Workglue.com, an all-in-one field service management software platform.  John serves on the Board of Directors of The Down Syndrome Association North Bay (DSANB). He is also professionally involved with several other organizations.

Danny is Vice President of Operations at Golden State Lumber in San Rafael.  He grew up working in the restaurant industry in Marin both catering, and at his family’s restaurant.  After graduating from Saint Mary’s College he began his career at Golden State Lumber in 2002.  Over time he has learned the business through many different roles within the organization.  Danny currently resides in Petaluma with his wife and two children.
 

Mendy supervises all daily business operations including overseeing managers and administrative staff. She ensures the timeliness and efficiency of all business decisions and helps the company achieve its mission statement of always putting customers first and providing excellent service. Mendy strongly believes and emulates the philosophy of giving back to her community. She supports and participates in fundraisers for many local organizations.

Sean started his career in insurance with Universal Underwriters in 1995 before becoming an independent agent in 2001, the same year he achieved his Certified Insurance Counselor designation. Having been with George Petersen since 2009, Sean has set himself apart with his focus in construction, garage liability and behavioral healthcare. He enjoys spending time with his two children, the Steve McGirr Charitable Brain Cancer Foundation, and participating in and coaching a variety of sports including baseball, basketball, & rugby.
