DESCRIPTION:So what is the difference between a residential dwelling unit\, accessible unit\, mobility unit\, communication unit\, adaptable unit\, visitable unit and a dwelling unit? This seminar will answer this question and others on the scoping of housing units under the requirements of the FHA\, UFAS\, ADA\, 11B and 11A for multifamily housing are sometimes subtle but otherwise significant. This seminar will cover public and private multifamily housing and compare and contrast both the federal and state regulations\, as well as CBC subsection 11A and 11B. There will be focused discussion on accessible kitchens\, baths\, and unit plan configurations with respect to interior access and closets and storage spaces. The requirements for all the specific unit types will be reviewed and requirements securitized\, such as placement of environmental controls\, tub and shower configurations\, alarms and notifications\, grab bar coordination\, built-in cabinetry\, and the selection of appliances and fixtures.\n\n\n\nThis will be a three part series\, with focus on:\n\n\n\nPart 1 (July 31) Funding sources\, application of law and regulations there similarities and differences\, unit dispersion and comparability\n\n\n\nPart 2 (August 28) Adaptable and Accessible kitchen design including appliance and fixture selection\, switch and outlet locations\, and the design and construction of built-in cabinetry\, bread boards\, and storage.\n\n\n\nPart 3 (September 25) Adaptable and Accessible bathroom design including plumbing fixture selection\, grab bar reinforcement\, furred and shaftwall conditions\, and clearances required at toilets\, lavatories\, and tub and shower enclosures.\n\n\n\nClick Here for Complete Information
